Sam Richardson

Sam Richardson is an actor, writer and producer perhaps best known as ‘Richard Splett’ on HBO’s landmark, Emmy- and Peabody Award-winning comedy series, VEEP, which recently aired its seventh and final season.
This year, Sam has an exciting slate of projects set to be released. Up first, He is set to start in Skydance Media and Paramount Pictures’ THE TOMORROW WAR, an action thriller film that tells the story of a husband and father who is drafted to fight a future war in which the future of humanity relies on his ability to correct issues of the past. In the action and stunt packed film, Sam flexes his action star prowess alongside Chris Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, J.K. Simmons and Betty Gilpin. Sam also brings his expert comedic timing and grounding to both his character and the film overall. The film, which is poised to be the action hit of the summer, will be released by Amazon on July 2nd of this year.
Also this summer, Sam brilliantly leads the ensemble cast in the upcoming comedy thriller film WEREWOLVES WITHIN based on the Ubisoft game of the same name. Similar to the video game, the horror comedy film directed by Josh Ruben, the movie revolves around the shenanigans that ensue when a massive blizzard isolates a small Vermont town, causing simmering resentments to boil over as the oddball townspeople are one by one picked off by a mysterious creature.  Sam hilariously portrays the town’s new Ranger who keeps everyone calm, cool and collected. The film also stars Michaela Watkins, Harvey Guillen, Cheyenne Jackson and more. The Ubisoft Film & Television-produced project will be released by IFC Films on June 25 in theaters and July 2 on VOD platforms.
Additionally, Sam wrapped production on Apple TV+’s murder-mystery comedy series THE AFTERPARTY opposite Tiffany Haddish, Zoë Chao, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer,
Dave Franco, Jamie Demetriou, and John Early. Created by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the eight-episode single camera comedy series is set at a high school reunion afterparty. Each episode will feature a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective, each with its own unique visual format and film genre to match the teller’s personality. Sam will
play ‘Aniq,’ described as a loveable escape room designer who hopes to reconnect with his high school crush. In the animated TV space, Sam will voice characters in Marvel's M.O.D.O.K which will release on Hulu on May 21 as well as in Fox’s new animated comedy HOUSEBROKEN which will air its first season on May 31 on the network.
Up next, Sam will be lending his voice to TBS’ comedy pilot KILL THE ORANGE-FACED BEAR, a series about one man’s epic revenge journey after a bear eats his girlfriend. Sam will voice the character Steve, a charmingly idiotic grizzly bear with a habit of breaking into cars to steal snacks and beer. Sam will be joining the cast alongside Sarah Silverman, Nicole Byer, Damon Wayans Jr., Jessy Hodges, Alex Karpovsky and Nate Torrence. The pilot is scheduled to begin shooting in May.
Sam has also been celebrated in recent years as the co-creator and star of Comedy Central’s critically adored comedy series, DETROITERS, co-created and co-starring his lifelong best friend, Tim Robinson, who like Sam hails from the city of Detroit. Sam’s additional television credits include a memorably recurring role on THE OFFICE, and has guest starred on ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, PORTLANDIA, NEW GIRL, DRUNK HISTORY,
BOOTSTRAPPED, which debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and the YouTube Premium comedy series, CHAMPAIGN ILL of which Indiewire said: “Richardson is as skilled a physical performer as he is a master of timing.”
